Oneida Limited

When first contacted by Oneida Limited, ZFS&A was asked to plan a new addition to the historic headquarters building to house 20 people. The building interior had not been updated in decades.

ZFS&A suggested an approach that focused on upgrading the entire structure through more efficient use of the space, with the goal of eliminated the need of an addition.

A detailed space analysis demonstrated that with a new floor plan and the use of systems furniture, each employee would have more working and storage space, and there would not be a need for the building addition. More importantly, the work space of all employees could be upgraded, not just those in the proposed addition.

The concept grew to a total renovation of the building, including new furnishings, lighting, mechanical systems, and for the time, air conditioning and an elevator.
